CAM DressupArray
Description
introduced in 1.1 The CAM DressupArray command repeats an existing Toolpath in a linear or polar pattern. It is a Dressup: it wraps the selected Operation, uses the Operation’s Tool Controller and coolant mode, and places the copies after the original Toolpath. Its tooltip reads: Creates an array from a selected toolpath.
Usage
-
Select one Operation or Dressup.
-
There are several ways to invoke the command:
-
Select the option from the menu.
-
Select the Dressup Operations dropdown on the Path Modification toolbar.
-
Select the option from the Tree view context menu.
-
-
The dressup has no task panel; set Type and the pattern parameters in the property editor. Properties that do not apply to the selected Type are hidden.
Properties
-
Base (
Link): The base Toolpath to modify. -
Type (
Enumeration): The pattern method;Linear1D(default),Linear2D,Polar. -
Copies (
Integer): The number of copies inLinear1DandPolarpatterns; default0. -
Offset (
VectorDistance): The spacing between copies in linear patterns. -
Copies X, Copies Y (
Integer): The number of copies in X and Y direction in aLinear2Dpattern. The base Toolpath counts as position (0,0), so the pattern has (Copies X + 1) × (Copies Y + 1) instances. -
Angle (
Angle): Total angle of aPolarpattern; each copy is rotated by Angle / Copies. -
Centre (
Vector): The centre of rotation of aPolarpattern. -
Swap Direction (
Bool): Make copies in X direction before Y in aLinear2Dpattern; rows are traversed in alternating direction. -
Jitter Percent (
Integer): Percent of copies to randomly offset; default0. -
Jitter Magnitude (
VectorDistance): Maximum random offset of copies. -
Jitter Seed (
Integer): Seed for the jitter randomness;0uses the object name, so recomputes are stable.
Relation to the Array Operation
The CAM Array Operation is considered deprecated since version 1.1 in favour of this dressup, but is still available on the Path Modification toolbar. The Operation supports the Points pattern type and rotation jitter (Use Jitter, introduced in 26.3), which the dressup does not; the dressup in turn follows the Active state and the Tool Controller of its base Operation automatically.
