Description

introduced in 26.3

The Quick Validate command (menu text: Quick Validate; tooltip: "Validates the CAM job for common issues without generating a full report") runs the Sanity Check rules on the selected Job and prints the findings in the Report view without producing the HTML report and its images.

The command is not on any toolbar, menu or context menu; it is reachable only through its keyboard shortcut P then V, or by adding it to a toolbar via Tools  Customize.

The findings include the Squawks of the Job’s Post-Processor. A machine-based Post-Processor compares each commanded Spindle Speed with the limits of the Toolhead of the Machine.

  • The Post-Processor reads the speeds from the M3 and M4 commands of the Tool Controllers and the Operations of the Job. The Post-Processor does not check a speed of 0.

  • A speed below the min_rpm limit or above the max_rpm limit of the Toolhead gives a WARNING Squawk. The Squawk shows the label of the Tool Controller or the Operation.

  • The Post-Processor uses the limits only when the Machine defines exactly one Toolhead and the type of that Toolhead is rotary.

  • A limit of 0 is a limit that is not specified. The Post-Processor does not check a speed against a limit that is not specified.

  • A Machine that defines more than one Toolhead gives a NOTE Squawk. The Post-Processor does not check the speeds of that Machine.

Usage

  1. Select the Job in the Tree View (the command is enabled only for a Job).

  2. Press P then V.

  3. Read the output in the Report view: Quick Validate: No issues found. or a block === Quick Validation Results === with one line per finding prefixed by its severity ([WARNING], [CAUTION] or [NOTE]), followed by N issue(s) found, M critical. Warnings and cautions are printed in the warning color.

The Spindle Speed findings of the Post-Processor have these texts:

  • '<label>' commands spindle speed <speed> rpm, below the machine minimum of <limit> rpm

  • '<label>' commands spindle speed <speed> rpm, above the machine maximum of <limit> rpm

  • Machine defines <count> toolheads; spindle speed was not checked against their limits
