Description

The Start Point Selection command (tooltip: "Selects the start point") lets you pick the start point of an Operation in the 3D View. It is available in the Tree View context menu of Operations that have a StartPoint property (for example Profile, Pocket Shape, Helix, Adaptive). It is not on any toolbar or menu.

Usage

  1. Select one Operation in the Tree View.

  2. Right-click and choose Start Point Selection.

  3. Click a point in the 3D View; the Draft snapper is used, so snapping to vertices and edges works.

  4. The X and Y of the picked point are written to StartPoint, Z is set to the Operation’s ClearanceHeight, UseStartPoint is set to true and the Operation is recomputed. The chosen coordinates are printed in the Report view.

Notes

  • introduced in 26.3: the start point can also be picked from the task panel of the Profile and Pocket Shape operations.
